- Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia), through its corporate social responsibility arm, Allianz4Good, rolled out the P-hailing Bikers Safety & Emergency Survival Programme (“Programme”) for riders from foodpanda and Lalamove. The Programme was conducted by the Road Safety Marshal Club (“RSMC”) and was held at MISAR Academy, Kampung Pandan on 17 July and 23 August 2025 respectively.
- The four-hour, hands-on training session focused on cultivating safer riding behaviours and strengthening riders’ first-response skills during emergencies. It was also designed to enhance their safe-riding behaviour while highlighting common road hazards and rapid first aid/self-triage techniques that can be applied at the scene of an accident.
- The training combined classroom cues with practical on-ground drills, covering topics such as personal bike inspection, choosing the right helmet and PPE, visibility and blind-spot awareness, safe and defensive riding techniques, group/convoy safety, what to do in a road accident, accident recovery/reporting, bike lifting & slow-speed control, and bikers’ emergency first aid/self-triage.
- Allianz Malaysia's collaboration with foodpanda and Lalamove underscores a shared commitment towards rider safety and well-being. By collaborating with these leading p-hailing platforms, Allianz Malaysia is able to provide riders with necessary knowledge and skills to navigate daily road challenges safely.
- This Programme delivers on Allianz Malaysia’s effort, highlighted at the Allianz Malaysia Media Forum 2025 with MIROS and leading p-hailing platforms, to uplift rider safety through practical, hands-on learning.
- “Riders are on the road all day; their exposure to road accident risk is real. This Programme provides riders with practical skills to prevent crashes and to respond in the first critical minutes during emergencies. Together with RSMC and foodpanda and Lalamove, we aim for safer deliveries and safer communities,” said Ng Siew Gek, Head of Allianz4Good.
- “At foodpanda, the safety and well-being of our riders are at the heart of what we do. Through our panda hearts initiatives, we are constantly looking for ways to provide meaningful support that goes beyond just day-to-day operations. Programmes like this, in partnership with Allianz Malaysia and RSMC, are an important step in equipping our riders with practical skills that help them stay safe on the road and respond effectively in emergencies. We are proud to be part of this collaboration that not only protects our riders but also contributes to safer roads and stronger communities,” said Shubham Saran, Director of Operations of foodpanda Malaysia.
- Jane Teh, Managing Director of Lalamove Malaysia added, “At Lalamove, our driver partners are at the heart of what we do, and their safety is our top priority. This collaboration with Allianz Malaysia and RSMC equips them with vital, life-saving skills and safer riding practices that make a real difference on the road.
